One of the cooler things Linkedin does is create a visualization of your network. They call this LinkedIn Maps. This gives you a big picture view of who you are connected to and the types of industries you are more closely aligned with. Mine is below.
The 4 reasons why this is helpful for you or your startup are:
1. You can see where your biggest concentration of connection are. Maybe there is a market you already have available to you that you didn’t even consider.
2. You can see the biggest influencers in your network. This LinkedIn Map will show you who in your next work has the most connection to others in your network. If that has proven useful you can look at their profile to see others that might be a good match.
3. You can see where you need to expand and who might be a good connection into that area.
4. You can see areas that are interconnected. This is also a great way to see how you can facilitate relationships.
These are all useful ways to use your LinkedIn Map but none of them are useful if you don’t get it here before they go!
