Now let’s dive into the heart of today’s episode: Consistency. As business owners, staying engaged in the social media sphere is crucial for the growth and relevance of our brands. It allows us to be aware of new market trends and incorporate them into our business models, or avoid them if they don’t align with our vision.
Consistency on social media is not just about receiving feedback from our clients and making informed decisions, though. It goes beyond that. It helps us build the habit of consistency in other areas of our business, such as follow-ups, budgeting, and marketing. When we establish consistency in one aspect, extending that consistency to other parts of our entrepreneurial journey becomes easier.
So, let me ask you, why is consistency so vital? Well, for starters, it brings in more clients. You become top of mind for your target audience by showing up consistently on social media. And even if it feels like nobody is watching, trust me, it positively impacts your business.
Consistency also allows you to explore your voice and establish your brand. You can experiment with various tones and languages, but always ensure it aligns with your brand identity. A word of caution, though: While a brand like Wendy’s might be admired for its sarcasm, it may not suit every business. Understanding your audience’s concerns will help you craft a consistent and effective online presence.
Remember, as you embark on your social media endeavors, be bold and audacious. Embrace your unique voice and personality, and don’t be afraid to let it shine through your online presence. Together, we can navigate social media with clarity and confidence.

Podcast Transcript:
You’ve probably heard consistency is king. Well, you maybe haven’t heard it, but you should have. Everybody should be talking about how consistency is king.
Tamay Shannon [00:00:45]:
Showing up and being you on the Daily is the key. So you become top of mind for the people that you want to talk to. But there’s more to being consistent than just being consistent for consistency’s sake. So that’s what we’re going to talk about today. We’re going to talk about all the other added benefits of being consistent on social media. It’s going to blow your mind and it’s going to remind you that even though it feels like nobody is watching, it doesn’t matter because you showing up consistently is what’s going to return dividends in your business. First things first. When you’re consistent on social media, that is an opportunity to explore your voice.
Tamay Shannon [00:01:32]:
What does your brand talk like? How does it respond down to the words or tones your brand doesn’t use? So you might admire Wendy’s and their wonderful sarcasm. But sarcasm isn’t for your brand; you can discover that through social media. This also extends to topics you will or won’t discuss. So something happens in the news, you personally might want to talk about it, but it might not be appropriate for your brand. And this is something you discover by being consistent on social media. The second thing is you get to evolve with your clients. If you’re showing up, you’re staying engaged. So you get to see on the ground floor what concerns they have, what they’re dealing with, and how that shifts as they get older, as they experience life events and things like that.
Tamay Shannon [00:02:31]:
When you stay engaged, you also get to see what new things are coming on the market and how you can incorporate that in your business model or how you could avoid it. You might notice that your clients, your people, they’re talking about it and they’re like, Ill, I don’t want that. And so instead of you having to try and test it on your own because you’re consistent, you get to get that feedback, you get to see how they are, you get to reap those benefits. And finally, being consistent on social media pays dividends in other places. If you can stay consistent on social media, something I hear that some of you all don’t like to do, then you are building that muscle. So then you can stay consistent with your follow ups, with budgeting, with marketing, all those areas of business that might not be your strong suit. You get to build the muscle, staying consistent in something that has not come naturally to you, and really grow and expand your business. So those are the three ways, besides bringing in more clients, that consistency contributes to and grows your business.
Tamay Shannon [00:03:44]:
Next week, I’m going to be talking about the tools that you can use to help you stay consistent. I don’t expect you to do it on your own, so I’m going to give you the resources so it makes it easier. My final thought for you today is if you are inconsistent because you’re overwhelmed, because you’re doing everything, then stop doing everything. Delegate. Hire fiverr. Hire a friend. Hire somebody. Ask somebody if you can’t hire, but make a request.
Tamay Shannon [00:04:19]:
Be bold, be audacious. You deserve to be supported.
