How crypto currency and Social Media are the same thing.  And why it matters to your business.

You’ve seen the ads on Facebook, around Google and even have gotten emails. Crypto currency is the next big thing and you HAVE TO JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON NOW. There seems to be a crazy sense of urgency and the idea that you could miss out on the opportunity of a life time. Social media used to be like that, people could jump in without much knowledge and make something happen. It seemed like someone was always going viral. Now, that is not the case. We’ve even gotten to the point that we relate to social media like old news and that has us doing some dangerous thinking.

Now, here are lessons crypto currency can teach us about social media marketing in our business.

It starts with “why?”

Sometimes a new tool will blind us to what fundamentally works and what doesn’t.  It prevents you asking for other ways you can achieve your goals and if those ways would be more effective for you. Why do people want to get into crypto currency? Well, to develop wealth quickly, to try something new, for the thrill, or any number of reasons.  But just because a tool is there – doens’t mean the tool needs to be used.

Why do you want to get on social media for your business? New customers? Brand awareness? Is there another way you can accomplish these tasks that would be easier in your business? If so, do that! Social media is a great solution for your biz it just might not be the solution.

So even though everyone says you should be getting into crypto (just what they said about social media) doesn’t mean it’s the appropriate move for you now.

Crypto currency is not new. It’s been around for years at this point. What’s different now is there are useful middlemen that make crypto currency seem easier to understand and interact with. But if you were one of the fearless early ones who spent even 20.00 your financial future would look significantly different now.

That’s exactly what happened with social media. At first, it was for the technology focused, the ones who would “get” it until there were apps and services that made it easier and accessible for all.  The lesson you can take away is where can you lean in on social media? What new action can you take or new way to use the same old social media to explode your social media now?

Fundamental shift (AKA industry disruption)

Disrupt Status Quo

Cypto currency is a fundamental shift in how we view money and what makes money money. It’s development was not based on how banks worked or how they transmit money. And that is causing people to think in new ways on how to accomplish old tasks.

Social media was a disruption. It decimated how businesses traditionally talked to people and created a space where small businesses could reach consumers on a level that big businesses could. But how can you use social media to accomplish your old tasks in new ways?

Well, social media is “old” now. Everyone and thier grandmother participates in some form or fashion. But if you look for ways for social media to disrupt your marketing you’ll see some great results.

Second by Second (not really but something like that)

One of the things that scares people about crypto currency is the volatility of the market. It seems to have mysterious happenings that only a few understand. However, if you start monitoring bitcoin or etherium you’ll begin to notice patterns. When you layer over that news in the industry, it becomes very obvious why something dips or rises astronomically.

Social media requires monitoring. The likes and shares might seem random. However, if you start looking at the cause and effect of what you post or your offline marketing. You will begin to see the relationship between what you’re doing and the results you are producing. It becomes less mysterious and more analytical.

Overall cypto currency teaches us that there are always new opportunities for innovating things that already work. If you stay present to the opportunities that different industries can teach you about your business you can always draw lessons that will keep your business in a state of creation.
